The lightening cracks across the sky
Another tear spills from my eye
My heart is racing, my Jesus, my Christ
Being nailed to a tree
Why?
His Name was assurance to my disowned self
I put my possessions up on a shelf
To follow Him in joy or pain
But where is He now?
Where's the glory of His name?
The glory of his name took away my fears
The glory of his name brought me to my knees
But at the foot of the cross where I stand all I have is tears
Where's the glory of His name?
The glory of His name
They struck his limp side, His lifeblood fell
Along with my hope that He'd save Himself
Now in the grave, what have I done?
Couldn't have saved Him, but I wish I had tried
Oh I wish I had tried
The glory of His name gave sight to the blind
He was truth He was light He was love He was kind
Or that's what I thought, but where is He now?
He just can't be the fraud that they say He was
No He can't be what they say He was
His Name gave hope to those of little faith
Said He was the door through which we were saved
But this blessed assurance is locked in the grave
My heart is torn
Where's the glory if His name?
And as I waited and watched and prayed
A Spirit was moving inside that grave
"He is not here! Why are you surprised?
When He said He'd rise, He did not lie,
No, He did not lie!"
The glory of His name lives in my heart
The glory of His name has risen up
Up from the grave He has taken away
The sins that once stained
With the Glory of His name.
